Paper Chain

Paper Chain is a quartet from Minneapolis, led by composer and lyricist Caitlin Benson. The group features Caitlin on lead vocals and cello, Andrew S. Lentz on piano, Chris Cuellar on guitar, Rigel Bloome on drums, and makes prominent use of three-part vocal harmony arranged by the group’s pianist. Paper Chain’s music is the effortless synthesis of modern chamber-pop with 19th century romantic composers such as Beethoven, Schumann, and Grieg. Caitlin’s writing straddles the feelings of open prairie skies and hurried metropolitan energy.
