Dowser

Dowser is the original folk-rock duo of John Kurtis Dehn on vocals, guitar, and harmonica and John Strei on drums and hand percussion. For more than 10 years, Dehn played lead guitar, mandolin, and banjo with the band, Bernie King & The Guilty Pleasures. A multi-instrumentalist himself, Strei most recently played drums in the band, The Flaming Doublewides. The two have been friends since high school, and in 2023 united to form Dowser.

John Kurtis Dehn’s songs contain shades of Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, and The Waterboys. His solo album, “Shovel & Hole” can be streamed on Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Spotify.
